Strategic Planning Guidance for Pharmacy Departments in Hospitals and Health Systems
ASHP and the ASHP Foundation (“the Foundation”) present this 14th edition of the annual Pharmacy Forecast and are pleased to disseminate it through AJHP, providing readers with easy access to the report. The Pharmacy Forecast provides insightful perspectives on issues that influence patient care, the health of populations, health systems, and the pharmacy profession at the local institutional and community levels as well as the state and national levels.
The Pharmacy Forecast is a product of efforts from many individuals and teams. Founding editor William Zellmer created the initial concept and guided the report through the first 4 editions. The Pharmacy Forecast is indebted to the members of the Forecast 2026 Advisory Committee, Forecast Panelists (FPs) who responded to the survey, and the chapter authors. ASHP and the ASHP Foundation recognize those who have helped make the 2026 edition a success; Daniel Cobaugh, Toni Fera, Devyn Turner, David Chen, and Maryam Mohassel provided substantial editorial support for this publication, and we appreciate their assistance.
As the philanthropic arm of ASHP, the Foundation supports the pharmacy profession by funding research and education to improve health outcomes through optimal medication use and to demonstrate pharmacists’ impact.
