Position General Summary: This position is an Essential position at the facility to ensure efficient operations and patient care. Employees hired into an Essential position are expected to report to work for their scheduled shifts regardless of the environmental weather and road conditions that may exist. Position Duties and Responsibilities: The Outpatient Pharmacist is responsible for providing medications, drugs and other pharmaceuticals as needed for appropriate patient care in accordance with professional standards of practice. Additionally, the Outpatient Pharmacist will assist the Outpatient Pharmacy Manager with additional tasks as required. The Outpatient Pharmacist will be responsible for outpatient medication and device education when appropriate. Facility General Responsibilities:

Position Requirements: Education, Work Experience, Licensure, Certifications: Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy. The Outpatient Pharmacist must have a minimum of one year of retail or community pharmacy experience, or equivalent as determined by the Outpatient Pharmacy Manager. Current Tennessee Pharmacy License Current Tennessee Controlled Substance Qualification Endorsement Working Conditions: The position requires sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting and lifting. The Pharmacist must be able to see with corrective eye wear. The Pharmacist must be able to ear clearly with assistance. The Pharmacist may be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases and may be in contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances. The Pharmacist must be able to handle emergency or crisis situations. The Pharmacist may be occasionally subject to irregular hours. The Pharmacist may be required to wear protective equipment as necessary.
