JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the planning, design, operation, and improvement of the medication management system for out-patient pharmacy care. These responsibilities are fulfilled through personal actions, proper delegation to competent leaders and individuals on his or her staff, and collaborative efforts with other leaders. Ensures compliance with patient care quality standards as it relates to the care provided to all age groups of patients. Directs and controls the purchase and inventory maintenance of pharmaceuticals and related substances and supplies. Qualifications Education/Certification:Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from accredited School of Pharmacy. Current Pharmacist certification or licensure in the State of Idaho. Experience: 5 or more years of experience in a pharmacy leadership role, preferably in a healthcare setting. Skills: Strong leadership and managerial skills to lead and motivate a team of pharmacy professionals. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders, including healthcare providers, patients, and administrative staff. Ability to analyze, prioritize and manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy CONCLUSION: The Director of Pharmacy plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of pharmaceutical services in the hospital. This leadership position requires a strategic mindset, strong operational skills, and a commitment to quality and regulatory compliance. By providing direction to the pharmacy team, collaborating with healthcare providers, and implementing best practices, the Director of Pharmacy contributes to the overall success of the hospital in delivering high-quality patient care | |
